Getting Started
Each student will be assigned to a group. There are 5 Stations and your group will have 2 classes to complete each one .
Each station has the same 5 sections that are best worked on in the following order:
1. Vocabulary: You'll have an opportunity to become familiar with the basic building blocks used in each station
2. Reading: with the basic vocabulary under your belt, you're better equiped to succeed with some short reading selections about one or more of the French characters at that station
3. Audio: You're now better prepared to listen to short descriptions of or introductions to one or more of the French characters at that station.
4. Orale: Having fine-tuned your listening skills, it's time to practice your speaking talents by first listening to a short dialogue, then reading the same dialogue and recording it to compare yourself to the original.
5. Grammar: Each station has one specific grammar point that will help you understand and use French more accurately
6. Mini-Tache: These are designed to give you an opportunity to put some of what you've learned at that station to use.
7. Quiz: In order to
ASSESSMENT: All of the sections of each station except will be collected at the end of the 2 days to be marked so we can ensure everyone is on the right track and to see if one or more concepts might require additional time or practice. As well, the final section of each station is actually a quiz. While each person will receive their own individual score for each quiz, we'll calculate the average score for each group and we'll use those to award additional euros for different accomplishments such as "the group with the highest average score", and others.
At the end of the unit there will be a research project where you will be able to put all your knowledge and skills to use. As well, there will be a unit test (most likely 'open book') on the vocabulary, grammar and other content of the stations.
